Prices and taxes

All prices are in Canadian dollars. The price you pay is the price shown in the checkout at the moment you place your order, including shipping. We may change prices at any time, but a change never affects an order that has already been placed.

We are not currently registered to collect GST/HST, so no tax is added to your order. If that changes, any tax will be shown separately in the checkout before you pay.

Customs duties and import taxes on international orders are not included and are the recipient’s responsibility. See Shipping.

Orders and acceptance

Placing an order is an offer to buy. The confirmation you see on screen and the email that follows are acknowledgements that we have received your order, not acceptance of it. A contract of sale is formed when we ship your books.

If we cannot accept your order — because a book is unavailable, because the price was listed in error, or because we cannot take payment — we will tell you and refund anything you have paid.

Payment

We accept two payment methods.

• Credit and debit cards, processed by Stripe. Card details are entered on Stripe’s secure form and are never seen or stored by Grey Goose Press. Payment is taken when you place the order.
• Interac e-Transfer, sent from your Canadian bank account. Your order is reserved when you place it, and is confirmed once your transfer arrives. Include the reference code shown in the checkout with your transfer so we can match it to your order.

An e-Transfer order that remains unpaid after fourteen days may be cancelled and the books returned to stock. Nothing is charged to you if that happens.

Availability

We are a small publisher with real, finite stock. Stock levels shown on the site are kept as accurate as we can, but occasionally the last copy of something sells twice. If that happens we will contact you promptly with the choice of a refund or a wait.

Delivery and returns

Shipping rates, processing times and destinations are set out on our Shipping page. Your rights to return a book, and how refunds are paid, are set out on our Returns page. Both pages form part of these terms.

Risk in the books passes to you on delivery.

Accounts

You do not need an account to buy from us. If you create one, keep your password to yourself and tell us promptly if you think someone else has it. We may suspend an account that is being used fraudulently.

Liability

Our responsibility to you for any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any right you have under Alberta’s Consumer Protection Act or other applicable Canadian consumer protection law, or our liability for anything that cannot lawfully be limited.

Governing law and changes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. The courts of Alberta have jurisdiction over any dispute.

We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your order is the one published when you placed it.
